Integrity is the value of possessing and consistently sticking to high moral and ethical principles. Integrity is what you do and how you conduct yourself when no one watching. You are a person of integrity when your words and actions are congruent and in harmony with your values and beliefs.

Prosperity is the state of having good fortune, wealth and success. It is essentially related to peace, harmony and satisfaction. You are prosperous when you have a thriving garden, when you have optimum mental and physical health, and when you have loving relationships in your life.

If you sow with integrity, you will definitely reap in prosperity. Here are a few golden principles of integrity which, when you act selflessly, will give you an assurance of prosperity.

First and above all, know yourself and seek improvement. You are always in a state of becoming more or less, so you should seek to understand what you believe and why you believe what you believe.

Treat others as you would expect to be treated. Treat others with dignity and respect and you will certainly win laurels among many other individuals.

Decide on a set of principles of which you will conduct your personal and professional life.

Always give more than what is expected of you both personally and professionally.

When you make a promise, then you must keep the promise. Never make a promise that you can’t keep or others won’t take you seriously. Before making a promise ask yourself; “do I have the time, the energy, and the knowledge required to keep this promise?” Only promise when you are absolutely sure you can keep it.

Take personal responsibility and accountability for your actions.

You should stand on your own words and avoid blaming others.

Be honest with yourself and your dealings with others. Don’t ever justify a dishonesty or even a mistake. If you make a mistake, immediately inform the other person(s) of your errors. It is always best to tell the truth even if you were wrong.  It will strengthen your character, increase your self-respect and self-satisfaction.

Make a list of your top three goals in life. Everyone is goal-oriented even when they think they aren’t. Humans are goal-oriented animals as a result of our ability to think ahead. When you write a list for grocery shopping or when you plan your day, you’re setting a goal to accomplish something that you haven’t yet realized. That’s a goal. A goal will assure your prosperity in anything you want to be or do.

When you write down your goals, also write why they’re important to you, meaning, how will your life improve or change as a result of achieving your goal. Your goals must be personal for you and not for someone else. Write your goals on a sheet of paper, attach them to your mirror so you can review them daily and check your progress. List your personal and professional goals and make a commitment to achieve them.

Remember the words of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a German classical statesman and writer:

“In order to do something, you must first be something”
